The short answer: The best AI email marketing tools for a Shopify store are Shopify's own Campaign Autopilot if you want something free, Klaviyo or Omnisend for AI helpers inside a full email platform, Wiz for AI cart recovery, LTV.ai for large brands, and tinyAlbert if you want AI to write your campaigns and core automations for you to approve.
Most lists of the best AI email marketing tools mix in cold-outreach tools, newsletter platforms and sales CRMs, which a Shopify store has no use for. This one covers only tools that connect to Shopify, and sorts them by how much of the work the AI actually does: some write a draft when you ask, some build a campaign from a prompt, and some produce your email programme for you to review. Prices and features come from each company's own pricing page, help centre or Shopify App Store listing, linked in the text. tinyAlbert is our app; it is listed on the same terms as the others, including where another tool fits better.
Three levels of AI in email marketing tools
"AI email marketing" covers very different products. Before comparing names, decide which level you need:
- AI that assists: you write the email, and AI suggests a subject line, rewrites a paragraph or tidies the tone. You still plan every campaign. Useful, but it saves minutes, not hours.
- AI that builds on request: you describe a campaign, a segment or a popup, and the tool drafts it. You still decide what to send each week and give each instruction.
- AI that runs the programme: the tool proposes or prepares campaigns and automations from your store data, and your job is to review, edit and approve. This is the closest thing to hiring help.
Most stores that search for an AI email tool want the third level but end up with the first, because "AI" on a feature list usually means a writing button. The table below shows which level each tool reaches.

The AI email marketing tools, reviewed
1. Shopify Campaign Autopilot, with Shopify Messaging and Sidekick
What the AI does: Campaign Autopilot, in Growth > Autopilot in your Shopify admin, uses your products, customers and sales data to recommend marketing actions across Shopify Messaging, Shop Campaigns, Meta Ads and Microsoft Advertising. For email it generates branded emails, automations such as abandoned checkout and a welcome series, and one-time campaigns. Shopify says your permissions control whether Autopilot needs your approval before it runs a tactic. Inside Shopify Messaging itself, the listing says you can use Sidekick to tailor emails to your brand.
Price: Autopilot is free on paid Shopify plans; you pay for the channels it uses. Shopify Messaging includes 10,000 free emails a month on Basic, Grow, Advanced and Plus, then $1 per 1,000.
Best for: stores that want to try AI email marketing for nothing, without installing another app.
Watch out for: email tactics need the Shopify Messaging app and an active subscriber list, and Autopilot works on a live store. It suggests tactics as it goes rather than showing a planned calendar up front, and it picks the audience. Our Campaign Autopilot review covers it in detail.
2. Klaviyo: K:AI and Composer
What the AI does: Klaviyo's AI page describes K:AI as built-in agents that use your customer profiles to plan and launch marketing, with humans in the loop. You tell Composer what you're trying to achieve, and it builds the audience, drafts the content and maps out the send strategy. Predictive features pick each person's send time, channel and product recommendations. The App Store listing adds email AI for campaign creation and "reputation repair AI" for deliverability on its paid Email plan.
Price: the free plan covers up to 250 active profiles and 500 email sends a month, with $5 of Composer usage a month. The listing shows the Email plan at $20 a month for 251 to 500 contacts; above that, Klaviyo's calculator shows the price for your profile count.
Best for: stores with a lot of customer data and someone who will direct the AI every week.
Watch out for: Composer works from the goals you give it. It is powerful in skilled hands and a lot of platform for a store owner who just wants the emails written. See our Klaviyo comparison for the price side by side with tinyAlbert.
3. Omnisend
What the AI does: the listing says Omnisend's AI writes on-brand copy and powers product recommendations. You can describe a segment and AI builds it, describe a popup and Forms AI builds it, and connect ChatGPT or Claude through MCP to create campaigns and segments from a chat.
Price: Omnisend's pricing page says the Free plan includes all features of its paid plans, limited to 250 contacts and 500 emails a month. Standard starts at $16 a month for up to 500 contacts and Pro at $59 for up to 2,500, which adds the personalised product recommender.
Best for: small stores that want AI to speed up writing and setup inside a straightforward email and SMS tool.
Watch out for: the AI helps you build; it doesn't decide what to send each week. Our Omnisend comparison covers the rest of the platform.
4. Wiz AI Email & Abandoned Cart
What the AI does: the listing says Wiz generates flows (abandoned cart and checkout, welcome, win-back, browse abandonment), popups and campaigns, and supports 20+ languages. Its AI Agency plan "plans, writes, & designs your monthly campaigns".
Price: free for development stores only; Pro $29.99 a month and AI Agency $99.99 a month, each up to 2,000 active contacts, rising as active contacts grow; 7-day free trial. Wiz's own website shows different prices, so check at checkout.
Best for: stores whose first priority is AI-written cart recovery, with monthly campaign planning available on the higher plan.
Watch out for: campaign planning sits on the $99.99 plan.
5. LTV.ai
What the AI does: LTV.ai sells a set of AI agents for email and SMS. Its pricing page lists proactive campaign recommendations, brief-to-send campaign creation and deliverability monitoring on its Starter plan, with an AI strategist on Growth.
Price: the site charges $0.004 per email on Starter (up to 500,000 emails a month) with a $499 monthly minimum. Its App Store listing also shows $0.004 per email.
Best for: large brands sending hundreds of thousands of emails a month.
Watch out for: the $499 monthly minimum is many times the entry price of every other tool on this list.
6. Mailchimp
What the AI does: Mailchimp's compare-plans page lists Intuit Assist, its AI assistant, as a beta for some users on Standard and Premium plans, in English and in select countries.
Price: the Free plan covers 250 contacts and 500 sends a month with no automation flows; Essentials, Standard and Premium are priced by contact tier, shown for your location.
Best for: businesses already running Mailchimp for several channels or shops.
Watch out for: the AI sits on the higher plans, and even an abandoned cart email needs a paid plan. Our Mailchimp comparison shows the send caps by size.
7. Sequenzy
What the AI does: the listing includes an AI assistant, CLI and MCP tools on every plan, with Shopify customer and order sync, segmentation and automations. Its website also sells a done-for-you plan at $499 a month with a three-month minimum.
Price: free for 2,500 emails a month with unlimited subscribers; $19 a month for 15,000 emails.
Best for: founders comfortable with developer-style tools who send a lot to a large list.
Watch out for: its main market is software companies, and the Shopify app launched in May 2026.
8. tinyAlbert
What the AI does: tinyAlbert works as your email marketing manager. At install you answer four questions: layout (Colourful, Minimalist or Professional), tone of voice (one of seven), content language (one of ten) and up to 1,000 characters about your store. It syncs your Shopify store data and writes a calendar of campaigns built around your store's category and retail moments, six automations (two welcome series, one with a 10% discount, thank you for purchase, win-back, product review request and abandoned cart with the shopper's cart products) and four signup forms. By default it plans about one campaign a week; you set how many and when. Every email has Preview, Edit, Send test and Regenerate, and nothing sends until you switch on its Activate toggle.
Price: $3 a month for up to 100 contacts after a 7-day free trial, then by contacts with unlimited sends: $10 for 251 to 500, $45 for 2,001 to 2,500. There is no free plan.
Best for: small stores that want AI to produce the email programme and keep the final say. See how tinyAlbert writes and sends your email marketing.
Watch out for: it is email only, with SMS coming soon; it has no free plan; and it does not carry the Built for Shopify badge. If you want AI help with ads as well as email for free, Autopilot covers more channels.
Free AI email marketing tools: what you actually get
"Free AI email marketing tools" is a common search, and a few genuinely free options exist for Shopify stores:
- Shopify Campaign Autopilot is free on paid Shopify plans, and Shopify Messaging's first 10,000 emails a month are free. This is the most generous free AI option for a store under that volume.
- Omnisend Free includes all paid features, AI tools among them, up to 250 contacts and 500 emails a month.
- Klaviyo Free includes $5 of Composer usage a month, up to 250 active profiles and 500 sends.
- Sequenzy Free includes its AI assistant for up to 2,500 emails a month.
- General AI assistants such as ChatGPT or Claude can draft emails for free, but can't send, trigger automations or see your orders.
The free plans of dedicated email tools stop at 500 emails a month, which is two campaigns to 250 people. Treat them as a trial, and price your real list size before you commit.
How to choose an AI email marketing tool for your store
1. Decide who will direct the AI
Tools at the "builds on request" level need someone to tell them what to make each week. If nobody in your business will do that, choose a tool that proposes the campaigns itself.
2. Check how it learns your brand
Look for a place to set tone of voice, language, logo and colours, and to describe your products in your own words. Without that, AI copy drifts to generic phrasing. Our guide on whether AI can write your marketing emails shows what to look for in the drafts.
3. Know what sends without you
Find the approval setting before you switch anything on. Autopilot's depends on your permissions; LTV.ai, tinyAlbert and Klaviyo's Composer keep you in the loop; check that you can pause everything in one place.
4. Count the price at your list size, not the entry price
Per-email, per-contact and per-active-profile pricing behave very differently once you email weekly. Price your own list and send frequency on each tool's page.
5. Look at deliverability, not just copy
AI makes it cheap to send more, which raises spam complaints if you overdo it. Check that the tool authenticates your sending with SPF, DKIM and DMARC and lets you send from your own domain.
6. Avoid two tools doing the same job
If you try Autopilot alongside an email app, make sure only one sends each automation. Shopify's own troubleshooting tells you to check whether another automation is blocking or duplicating the same trigger.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best AI email marketing tool for a small Shopify store?
It depends on how much you want the AI to do. Shopify's Campaign Autopilot is the best free start. Omnisend and Klaviyo suit stores that want AI helpers inside a full platform. tinyAlbert suits small stores that want a calendar of campaigns and core automations written for them to approve, from $3 a month after a 7-day free trial.
Are there free AI email marketing tools for Shopify?
Yes. Campaign Autopilot is free on paid Shopify plans, and Shopify Messaging includes 10,000 free emails a month. Omnisend's Free plan includes its AI tools for 250 contacts and 500 emails a month, Klaviyo's includes $5 of Composer usage a month, and Sequenzy's free plan covers 2,500 emails. General assistants draft for free but can't send.
Can AI run my email marketing on its own?
Partly. Autopilot, Wiz's AI Agency plan, LTV.ai and tinyAlbert all produce campaigns or automations from your store data. What still needs you is the final check: prices, discount codes, dates, the audience and whether it sounds like your shop. Choose a tool where you can review, edit and pause everything before and after it sends.
Do AI email tools hurt deliverability?
Not by themselves. Inbox providers judge your authentication, complaint rates and whether people asked for your email, not who wrote it. The risk is volume: AI makes extra emails cheap, and sending far more to people who didn't sign up raises complaints. Check that your tool authenticates sending and raise frequency gradually.
Is ChatGPT enough for Shopify email marketing?
For drafting, it can help: paste your brand brief and real product details and ask for a first draft. It can't send email, trigger an abandoned cart automation, pull a shopper's cart or report orders, so you still need Shopify Messaging or an email app, plus the same checks before anything goes out.
